Penny pincher, tight wad, cheapskate, miser. We roll our eyes in exasperation, and have a hard time concealing our irritation when we encounter them. What we should be doing is taking note, sneaking a peek at their play book.

How much money could we save if we opted to skip the restaurant a couple times per month? Would you even notice if you eliminated some of those premium cable channels? And what could you turn that extra cash into? Pay for that dental work that you’ve been putting off? Supplement the college fund you’ve surely started? Start paying those credit cards down?

Is it just me, or did we all let the dire circumstances of the housing market collapse and the subsequent recession slip our collective minds like way too soon?
